Everything around you is made of parts.

Most of them you never get to see. They are screwed shut, and you are told not to open them.

What’s Inside lets you open them. You get all the parts of a real thing — a washing machine, a bicycle, a rocket — and you put it together yourself, one piece at a time.

How it works

You get a pile of parts and an empty bench.

  1. Tap a part to fit it. Each one tells you what it is, what it does, and what happens when it breaks.
  2. Press Test it whenever you like. The machine runs with whatever you have built so far. Missing something important? You will see exactly what goes wrong.
  3. A few questions along the way. Get one wrong and nobody tells you off — it shows you why instead.
